The Youth Development Clinic (YDC) is a private, non-profit, professional service agency providing behavioral health prevention and treatment services to children and families in the greater Newark, New Jersey area.

For almost 50 years, YDC has worked with the individual child, the family, the neighborhood and the learning environment in a coordinated effort to raise the level of academic and personal satisfaction in our clients. Most of YDC’s clients are local residents and are low income as documented by U.S. Census, and/or Free and Reduced Lunch Program eligibility.

YDC reaches out to the community by providing direct therapeutic services, both on and off-site, to high-risk children and their families. With specialized programs in public and private school settings, pre-school and community-based organizations, YDC concentrates on the relationships between children, their families, and the community.

The challenges Newark children face are awesome. We must see their hope as our hope, and the world they shape will indeed be our harvest.
